(News Release) "GRAND MONday GINZA" newly acquires "Green Key," an international eco-certification promoting sustainable tourism!
hotel MONday Group's top-tier brand, "GRAND MONday GINZA," has been recognized for its sustainable initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact, including energy and resource conservation and waste reduction.

GRAND MONday GINZA, the first facility under the "GRAND MONday" brand, the top-tier brand of hotel MONday Group operated by JHAT Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Representative Director: Akira Hirabayashi), has obtained the "Green Key" eco-certification, which is recognized globally as an excellent standard in the fields of environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the tourism and hospitality industry, as of August 18, 2026.
Green Key is an international eco-label operated by the Fund for Environmental Education (FEE), headquartered in Denmark. Certification is granted only after meeting rigorous standards (environmental management, energy, waste, water resources, local nature and cultural protection, etc.) and undergoing on-site audits by a third-party organization.

■ GRAND MONday GINZA
At GRAND MONday GINZA, we are promoting various initiatives to reduce our environmental impact through our daily hotel operations.[Example of an initiative]
● Adoption of amenities containing biomass materials and reduction of plastic use
The in-room amenities utilize "mugicara," a plastic amenity system incorporating wheat-derived biomass. This system achieves approximately 29% reduction in plastic use for items such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps, and approximately 89% reduction in plastic packaging materials, contributing to a reduction in single-use plastics and resource recycling.
● Energy conservation management and water resource preservation
We have established an environmental management system that monitors energy consumption, waste generation, and water usage in hotel operations. We maintain water-saving designs, such as installing water-saving showers in guest rooms, and strive to reduce overall CO2 emissions and environmental impact through highly efficient operation and management of facilities by our staff.
● Recycling of lost and found items in guest rooms
We have installed cards in guest rooms, creating a system that allows guests to reuse or recycle unwanted clothing and miscellaneous items at their own discretion. Our partner company, ECOMMIT, reuses or recycles over 98% of the collected items both domestically and internationally, and we visualize CO2 reductions and resource recycling rates through a tracking system. (News release dated January 26, 2026) "A new common sense: 'Lost and found items are resources.' hotel MONday Group launches a recycling model at 30 facilities nationwide.")
● Environmentally friendly cleaning
For guests staying four nights or more consecutively, we have implemented a system that reduces room cleaning to once every three nights. By allowing guests to indicate that they do not require cleaning, or by placing used towels outside the door for "towel replacement only," we are promoting water and energy conservation.
Furthermore, we are expanding our efforts to create social value together by encouraging guests to cooperate in environmental conservation through QR codes in their rooms, digital brochures, and television screens.
● Contribution to local culture through traditional crafts
All guest rooms are equipped with Kutani ware tea sets, characterized by their vibrant colors and bold designs, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing tea time in the comfort of your room. Our choice of Kutani ware also reflects our desire to support Ishikawa Prefecture's traditional crafts, which are helping to recover from the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. Through our daily operations, we contribute to the preservation of Japanese regional culture and support for disaster-stricken areas.
